Sarah Abbott is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Portland Oregon. She earned her MFA in Visual Studies from Pacific Northwest College of Art and her BA in Studio Art from San Francisco State University.

Abbott’s art practice is emphatically centered around photography and the medium’s ability to promote pleasure in seeing everyday surroundings in new ways. Domestic scenes, objects, and situations are captured with an eager and exploratory lens, printed, and oftentimes manipulated. Using photography in tandem with other mediums, such as collage, bookbinding, sculpture, and embroidery, she experiments with subjects and surfaces to explore what happens when looking just a little longer brings complexity to seemingly simple images. Abbott currently exhibits locally, nationally, and internationally.
